about standupdad

A longtime television news reporter, Mark Joyella took on the story of his life in 2010, when his daughter was born.  Despite years of working long days, living on coffee and adrenaline, and thinking he’d seen and done it all–riding out hurricanes, riding in fighter jets, and even eating fire at Coney Island–fatherhood was and is the most exhausting, amazing and meaningful work he’s ever done.

After working at television stations from Colorado to Alabama, Miami to New York City, and written for newspapers like the New York Post. These days Mark’s the TV Editor at Mediaite, serves as a New York based contributing correspondent for Australia’s top-rated The Morning Show, and coaches individuals and corporations on media, video and storytelling. You can learn more about Mark’s work at his website, Standupkid.

Mark’s also been dubbed “New York’s Most Annoying Husband” by the New York Daily News, and “World’s Most Annoying Husband by a New Zealand television network.  If you insist, you can find out more about all that on a very funny blog written, of course, by Mark’s wife.
